S3E7: #beWISER on pregnancy and parenthood in residency

Before COVID times, one of our #beWISER events was on pregnancy and parenthood during surgical residency. Dr. Rima Rindler (Emory neurosurgery resident) and Dr. Emily Barrow (then Emory ENT resident, now faculty), came up with the idea of sharing their experiences and the many things they both wished they knew about having kids during residency.

With Mother’s Day this month, and the inability to gather together for our usual #beWISER events, we dug up the recording from this event and listened to it again.

This event is impregnated with a lot of valuable, uncommon knowledge about how to navigate starting or expanding your family while in training, so we wanted to share it here for our listeners to hear – again or for the first time.

You’ll hear the perspectives from various residents and faculty, and questions being answered by students in the audience.

Dr. Beth Willingham (center), Emory ENT faculty, opened her her beautiful home to host this event, led by Dr. Rima Rindler (left) and Dr. Emily Barrow (right).
